Key Medical Issues:
Having gone through the interview process, as well as attending medical school, our tutors understand what issues are most relevant to discuss in the interview and how to approach these issues.
We provide a step-by-step breakdown of what to expect in the interview, and how to practise and perfect each component of the interview starting from the introductory handshake, all the way to leaving the interview room.
All students will be given a set of sample scenarios which will be used to develop interview skills throughout the workshop. These scenarios include a variety of medical and social topics, ensuring that students are well equipped to answer any interview questions that arise.
Tutor Run Breakouts:
Students will then be divided into smaller groups, and will practise scenarios and different interview techniques with both the tutors and their peers. This will enable the students to profit from both the feedback from the tutor as well as form connections with their peers.
A MOCK INTERVIEW, SIMILAR TO THE INTERVIEW STYLE OF THE APPLIED UNIVERSITY WILL BE RUN, WITH STUDENTS RECEIVING PERSONAL AND IN DEPTH FEEDBACK FROM EACH STATION. THE MOCK INTERVIEWS WILL BE RUN BY MEDAHEAD TUTORS, WHO ARE EITHER CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN MEDICAL SCHOOL OR HAVE COMPLETED MEDICINE. GENERALLY THE MOCK INTERVIEWS ARE RUN A WEEK AFTER THE WORKSHOP, SO THAT STUDENTS HAVE A WEEK TO DEVELOP THE SKILLS TAUGHT AT THE WORKSHOP.
One on One Tutoring
For students applying from interstate (outside NSW) or overseas, this service is perfect. We offer online one-on-one sessions with students, running through the steps to the interview, the interview techniques to tackle different types of questions and also run through sample scenarios with the student. For those that prefer in-person tutoring, this service is also available within Sydney.
At MedAhead, it is our goal to get you into medicine and we understand that interviews are hard to master. So each student that enrols, will be given complete email access to our tutors to ask questions regarding different aspects of the interview allowing them to continue to develop their skills.
